We are proud to share that recent Donovan Catholic graduate Carolina Rivera-Colón has earned the prestigious Summit Award, the highest recognition in the Scouting America Venturing program. Carolina’s achievement is a reflection of her exceptional leadership, service, and commitment to personal growth.
 
As a member of Venturing Crew 129, Carolina led an impactful community project titled "Barnegat Bay Buddies" in partnership with Save Barnegat Bay. Her work included creating educational cartoon characters to help local youth understand the importance of watershed protection and environmental stewardship.
 
Carolina’s Summit Award Court of Honor will be held on July 26, 2025. We congratulate her on this outstanding accomplishment and are proud to see her continuing to lead with purpose and creativity beyond her years at Donovan.

We were honored to welcome back five alumni for our inaugural Alumni Career Panel on April 11, 2025 — a meaningful event that brought inspiration, insight, and connection to our campus community.

Donovan Catholic’s talented students from the Band, Choir, Theatre, and Fine Arts Departments recently showcased their incredible artistry at Ocean County College’s Teen Arts Festival. We are so proud of their participation and the passion they brought to this inspiring event, which celebrates creativity and self-expression among high school students throughout the county.
 
We are especially proud to recognize two standout students who received top honors:
 
🎭 Ava Buray received an “Outstanding Achievement” award in the Small Musical Theatre category for her exceptional performance. Ava’s talent, dedication, and stage presence wowed audiences and judges alike.
 
🎨 Sienna Kerr was honored with an “Outstanding Achievement” award in 2D Visual Art for her breathtaking oil painting titled “Simone.” Her piece demonstrated both technical skill and emotional depth, earning well-deserved recognition from the festival’s panel of art professionals.
 
Congratulations to Ava, Sienna, and all of our remarkable arts students for representing Donovan Catholic with excellence, creativity, and Griffin pride!

The Griffins are coming off an impressive 23-5 season and are ready to dominate in 2025!  With a powerful senior lineup — Christina Ginex, Olivia Kurth, and Gianna Apostolakos — and an electric underclassmen crew led by Auburn commit Bella Maria and sophomore standout Isabella Cino, Donovan Catholic is stacked with next-level talent.

  Congratulations to the Robo Griffins on this win! 🎉🤖 When faced with a difficult challenge during Sunday’s competition, the team quickly came together to fix their robot in under ten minutes, never missing a single round. This tenacity won them the prestigious Judges’ Award in the competition.

🎉 Congratulations to James Harris on being selected as a National Youth Correspondent for the 2025 Washington Journalism and Media Conference at George Mason University!

Josalyn Rush broke the Indoor Track & Field school record in the LONG JUMP on February 18 at the Rebel Field Invitational. 

Morgan Poskay breaks the school record in the 200 with a time of 26.56 at the Garden State Invitational on Friday night at Ocean Breeze in Staten Island.

Bishop David O’Connell, chair of the Committee on Catholic Education, represents and supports the federal school choice bill introduced on Capitol Hill. 

EntreX Students Shine In Their Project Showcase - Next Stop, Rutgers! 
 
Through our partnership with the University of Delaware, Donovan students gain access to EntreX, an unparalleled entrepreneurial learning experience. This week, our EntreX students presented their innovative business ideas to a panel of judges, including entrepreneur and Donovan alumni Aidan Vetter.

Their ideas included:
✨ Steplux, a fashion-forward activity tracker by Nicolette Gonzalez & Georgia Phillips
🌱 Smart Sprout, a plant-watering app by James Aldrich, Brooke Bowbliss & Justin Ramirez

🎉 After impressive presentations and thoughtful Q&A sessions, Smart Sprout was named the winner of the competition! The Smart Sprout team will advance to the next round at Rutgers University at the end of this month! 🎊 Congratulations to all of our EntreX students for their hard work, and especially to the Smart Sprout team for their outstanding achievement. 

The Donovan Catholic Boys Swim Team took on St. Rose High School in the first round of states on Wednesday, February 4, and it was a night to remember!

The Iron Griffins brought their strength and spirit to the USPA Winter Showdown this past Saturday in Eatontown, NJ!
