Donovan Catholic High School's THEATRE Program

The Donovan Catholic Theatre Program gives students the opportunity to discover their talents, build confidence, and experience every part of bringing a production to life.

Each year, students take the stage in two major productions—one in the fall and one in the spring. Our shows are truly a student experience, with Griffins involved both on stage and behind the scenes in acting, lighting, sound, props, sets, costumes, stage crew, and technical production. Students also have opportunities to showcase their talents through theatre competitions throughout New Jersey.

Donovan Catholic is proud of the strong reputation our Theatre Program has built through years of outstanding productions, dedicated students, and a community that supports the arts.

Recent productions include Something Rotten!, Singin' in the Rain, The Addams Family, Our Town, The Music Man, 42nd Street, The Sound of Music, The Wizard of Oz, Fiddler on the Roof, Guys and Dolls, Mary Poppins, and many more.

Donovan Catholic's BAND program

The Donovan Catholic Band Program gives student musicians the opportunity to develop their talents, perform as part of a team, and share their love of music with the school community and beyond. Students can participate in Band as part of their academic schedule, with additional rehearsals and performance opportunities taking place after school. Our Pep Band brings energy and Griffin spirit to football games, school pep rallies, and other special events throughout the year.

Beyond campus, Donovan Catholic musicians have opportunities to represent our school at local and statewide band competitions, showcasing their skills alongside talented student musicians from across New Jersey.

Whether performing in the stands, competing on stage, or developing their skills in the classroom, students are encouraged to grow as musicians while becoming part of the Donovan Catholic Band community.

Donovan Catholic's CHOIR program

The Donovan Catholic Choir is a versatile, multi-genre performance group that gives students the opportunity to develop their vocal talents, build confidence, and share their gifts with the school and greater community. As an important part of the faith life at Donovan Catholic, the Choir provides music for school Masses, prayer services, and other special celebrations throughout the year. Students also perform in two annual concerts, as well as at program fundraisers, school functions, and community events.

The Choir explores a wide variety of musical styles, from classical and sacred music to musical theatre, pop, jazz, and everything in between, giving students exposure to a diverse repertoire and opportunities to grow as vocalists and performers.

More than simply learning music, students experience the collaboration and connection that comes from performing together. Whether singing in worship, taking the stage for a concert, or representing Donovan Catholic in the community, Choir gives every student an opportunity to find their voice and share it with others.
