New Jersey State Champions!

Congratulations to the Donovan Catholic High School Sailing Team for winning the 2023 NJ Interscholastic Sailing Association State Championship for the Elizabeth Olsen Memorial Trophy hosted by the @tomsriveryc yesterday.   Thirteen schools from around New Jersey completed 5 races in each division and faced heavy rain and shifty winds throughout the regatta.

Donovan Catholic had a dominant performance with a 12 point lead over local rivals CBA in second place, followed by Southern Regional in 3rd.   James Kopack ‘24 and crew Caroline Felser ‘24 topped A-division by 2 points and Kevin Brooksbank ‘23 and crew Liam Marcell ‘26 won B - Division by one point to the Pingry School.

The Griffins are now headed to the Phoebe King National Invitational hosted by @youthsailingvirginia in Hampton, VA in two weeks.
