The Mathematics Department strives to ensure that all students experience success in mathematics. The department offers a variety of courses at various levels of expertise that suit the needs of the student learner.. The learning environment encourages students to work together to reason mathematically, solve problems, and explore the connections between math, its theories, and applications. Students have the opportunity to advance from college prep courses to honors with the grade requirement and teacher recommendation. Students are required to take the mandatory core courses and 1 elective to fulfill the 20 credit graduation requirement. Students are encouraged to double up in math their 10th,11th and 12th grade to ensure they an take advantage of all of the electives we offer.

Teacher recommendations and student course grades are required to be reviewed for all Honors, AP Courses, Advanced Pathways and Electives course placements

Honors courses are accelerated and cover subjects in greater depth. Teacher recommendation and an approximate final grade of 85+ is required to remain in Honors Mathematics courses. These courses require the purchase of the Texas Instruments graphing calculator "TI84 PLUS."
