Congratulations to senior Kaelin McManimon on her amazing achievements.  Kaelin had her poem published in a book titled, "American High School Poets Holiday Special 2023". 

The poetry is from high school students across the country.  Less than 20% were chosen.  Kaelin's poem was the subtopic ~ "Of Love and Dedication".  The book can be found on Amazon.

Bee My Love
He was a rose,
His petals painted with morning dew drops;
His words spilled like honey.
He was beautiful
I knew I had to say hello.
I mustered up the courage to buss over to him,
He was even more beautiful up close.
I opened my mouth to speak,
Nothing but a low hum escaped my lips.
I was black and yellow, now blushing red with embarrassment;
My hopes fleeted.
I turned away, ready to part ways.
He reached out, touched my shoulder and kissed me upon my cheek.
My heart fluttered and I smiled.
I think that I fell in love today,
as crazy as that my bee.

The book was released on Amazon in November.

Kaelin also won YoungArts.  YoungArts is a national competition for 15-18 year old.  Voice is one of the 10 art disciplines.  Under the voice topic was jazz, classical, popular and singer-songwriter.  There were a total of 9,000 entries across all categories.  Voice total was 700 and then narrowed again.  She had four categories of Jazz songs required to sing;  Bossa Nova, upbeat, start acapella and then, bring in music and a jazz ballad.  She had to scat in the songs.  Only  1% win for jazz voice and Kaelin sang "Fly Me To The Moon" for the win!
