The Art club is currently busy working on a few projects.

● It is an open studio for an artist who would like to enhance their sketchbook and journals.
● Some artists are finishing up an origami designed clay bowl.   The artists created a
pattern from paper and used that as a template to shape the clay .   After it is fired it will
be glazed and fired again.
● There are a few Artists who are creating “Artists” Pennants to celebrate their favorite
artists/illustrator or designer.

Donovan Catholic Visual Arts Department believes that art education is fundamental to human growth and provides students with intellectual, creative, and emotional experiences that connect them to a common core of knowledge.   It is our philosophy that Art provides invaluable opportunities for students to use their imagination and problem solve using their own creativity.   Art allows a forum for expression of the human spirit and validation of feelings in studying, creating and responding to art.   Whether it is being pursued as a career or simply being studied as an opportunity to develop vocational pursuits, art education will heighten an appreciation for visual literacy and the challenges of creative self-expression.
