Maura Krobatsch (C’22) is a PERFECT example of how your generosity directly supports deserving Donovan Catholic students. Maura, a current Donovan freshman and legacy student, received the Alumni Scholarship for this school year.  Maura is the daughter of Tara Brownridge Krobatsch (C’87) and the youngest of seven siblings. Maura is an honors student, a Donovan athlete and a member of the Performing Arts program.

Our high school just received a congratulatory message from Bishop David O'Connell and the following message from Mrs. Joanne Tier, Superintendent for Schools in the Trenton Diocese.

Congratulations are extended to Dr. Edward Gere upon recognition as a finalist in Today’s Catholic Teacher 22nd annual: 2019 Innovations in Catholic Education Awards.  Over 100 Catholic schools throughout the nation contributed programs and projects in one of the four categories – Promoting Catholic Identity, Curriculum and Instruction, Technology Integration, and Total Community Involvement.  There are 3 finalists in each category. Donovan Catholic is a finalist in the Curriculum and Instruction category. Congratulations on this fine work that is recognized on a national level!

C’99 ALUMNI ASSISTS OUR
DONOVAN DECATHLON TEAM

Three graduates from the C’99 volunteered at the 2019 U.S. Academic Decathlon to help judge student speeches and interviews. Michael Smullen is now on the Board of Trustees of U.S.A.D. and currently is the Executive Director of Alumni Relations at N.J. Institute of Technology. Pilar (Sanzari) Tortorello works as a Human Resources Manager for the State of New Jersey (pictured below with her husband, Frank Tortorello). Christopher Tobin teaches math and social studies at our own St. Joseph Grade School. The Donovan Catholic Decathlon team competed in the N.J. Academic Decathlon in Clifton.

 

Mr. Smullen, Mrs. Tortorello and Mr. Tobin were all decathletes when they attended Monsignor Donovan High School.
Thanks for your dedication to this event over the years.

CONGRATS TO CHARLES CARROLL C’03

The Irish Echo Law & Order Award was presented to Charles Carroll on January 25, 2019 at the Manhattan Club at Rosie O’Gradys in NYC. Charles is a Police Officer in the NYPD, Department of Employee Assistance Unit (EAU). This annual event celebrates the brave men and women in law enforcement who work hard to keep society safe. In their honor, the Irish Echo inaugurated the Irish Law and Order awards in 2009. The 10th anniversary of the Law and Order honorees will include police officers, corrections officers, federal law enforcement officers, lawyers working in the offices of district attorneys and professionals working within the Justice Department.

JESSICA BOWEN C’15

Jessica is attending college at Rutgers Newark. She is a psychology major and has a minor in neuropsychology. Jessica was awarded a seat in Purdue University’s Psychology PhD program, where she will also complete her master’s degree and will receive a two-year fellowship from Purdue University Graduate School.
